So today I've got not one, not two, but THREE things to share! Crazy, I know ;)
I'm starting off with the card that gave me the most trouble, but ended up being my favorite of the day! I'm out of white cardstock at the moment, so I'm making use of my colored stock for now. I usually prefer white, so it's stretching me out of my comfort zone working with color!
Anyhoo, I struggled with this layout- it turned out completely different than when I started! I started out doing a tone on tone card, both layers being the purple cardstock, but I just couldn't make it work how I imagined. So after a few swap outs of layers and colors, this is what I settled on. And you know what? I love it! I think the kraft really offsets the bright purple color, and the greens play into the more natural earth tones of the kraft too. Papertrey Ink's beautiful images and sentiments made this card a breeze to make... once I settled on a layout that is! So that's card one for today :)
Oh, and here's a close up- you can see I added a touch of colored pencil to the flowers. Love :) Oh, and I'm playing along at the Seize the Birthday challenge under the "anything goes" option!
Here is where we start Christmas in July! I'm aiming toward doing a craft fair in the fall, and I figure if I start making Christmas cards NOW, I might have enough stock to sell well at the fair ;) So you'll likely be seeing a lot of Christmas cards from now until, well, Christmas! So this is the first set that I came up with.
Again, working with the colored cardstock... ironically, this card started out as a one-layer card, then moved to a two-toned two-layer card, and ended up as a tone on tone card! A bit of the reverse of the top card! I kinda like it- I was going for a non-traditional color scheme. Suitable for some of the various holidays around Christmas time.
And I decided to do a matching gift tag set! I think I'll be doing this with most of the sets of cards that I make. Super simple, one layer, image on front, and "to: from:" on back. Easy to whip up a few of these in just a few minutes. The stamps are by PTI and there's a bunch of round images in this set that make for perfect tag making!
