Moxie Fab Neutrals

And the last Moxie Fab card of the day!

This was another card that turned out a lot different than I'd hoped... I decided on papers fairly quickly, but couldn't find a stamp that really called to me... unfortunately I didn't have a good tan ink, otherwise I would have ended up going with some vintage images! Oh well, there's always the next card :)

Moxie Fab Pastels

And another Moxie Fab card...

Pink and purple... the two colors I'm least fond of... so this was a toughie to be sure! This card did not end up how I'd hoped... but, for better or worse, I'm loving that crossword birdie Unity image! I also stamped "baby" using part of Unity's KOM Happily Ever After.

Moxie Fab Brights

Here's another Moxie Fab card!

This card is another contender for being my favorite card I made today... The orange paper is actually from a friend's wedding invite! I loved it, so I decided to keep it. Ironic that it went from a wedding invite to a wedding/anniversary card, hehe! This was another tough color combo for me... I kept going back and forth between a few ideas... then this idea came about when I found the great damask ribbon which I hadn't even opened yet! It needed to be used... and used it was! :) I kept the pink as an accent color- in the gems and the sentiment. Sentiment is from Unity's KOM Happily Ever After.

Moxie Fab Metallics

So here's another Moxie Fab card...

This card kept stumping me actually... because I kept wanting to use silver instead of the pink! Hehe, as I mentioned earlier, pink is not my color... and when I think "metallic" I definitely think gold and silver. Anyhoo... after I stopped trying to use my silver embellies, I came up with this! I used Tiff's Sketchy Sunday #2 LO, which is funny because out of all her LO's thus far, that was the one that stumped me most! I had pulled out this Unity KOM stamp to use for a different color challenge, but it ended up finding a home on this card :) The "picture perfect" sentiment is also Unity! The inside says "have a picture perfect birthday." The gold shimmer paper is TPC Studios, the gold pearls are Recollections, and the gold wire I've had forever, hehe.

(I couldn't decide which photo showed the metallic finish best, so I kept both!)

Moxie Fab Jewels

So here's take two on Moxie Fab's color challenges!

So originally I had in mind to use the monochromatic card's LO for this color challenge... but it took on a mind of it's own! I found the great yellow PP that I'd won in a RAK from the lovely Sarah Martina... then I was flipping through my Unity stamps and found this great KOM image that I hadn't used yet.... then I found the ribbon, which was still in it's packaging just begging to be used... and well, this is what I ended up with! This might be my favorite card I made today :)

Moxie Fab Monochromatic

Get ready for a few Moxie Fab color combos! Today was the first day that I've gotten to craft in a while- so I decided to play along with their latest color challenges- and some of them were challenging indeed!

So pink isn't really my color, so the hardest part of this card was finding shades of pink in my stash! Hehe. But I had this LO in mind all week- so I'm glad I got to use it finally!! Both stamps are SU!

a good book

This is a card that kind of came about as an accident. I had stamped the tree image a little too close to the edge of the paper, so when I went to punch it, there wasn't enough space for the whole circle, so one side had a flat edge. I didn't want to throw the image out, so I decided to cut another edge and put it in the corner :) I paired it with the sentiment, some embellies, and my favorite new embossing plate!

cleaning {and hopping!} with PTI

So this is how my project started.... I've been needing a more convenient way to clean my toilets... yes, I said it. It's true! I've switched over to using straight up vinegar and baking soda for toilet bowl cleaning, but using just a little plastic cup to sprinkle both around the inside of the bowl just hasn't been working the best. In comes these two old canisters. The old dish liquid container is perfect for squirting the vinegar, and the cinnamon container will be perfect for sprinkling the baking soda!

Enter the PTI stamps, some DP, ink... and this is how my project turned out! I'm joining in on their January 2011 Blog Hop {my first PTI hop ever!} and their theme is to use a set that you haven't, if ever, used... well ALL of my sets are brand new and thus barely used! I whipped out the All Booked Up and 2009 Holiday Tags. Something that I DID use that was collecting dust was my Mod Podge... yup, believe it or not, this is my first time using it!! I have TWO bottles and never used them yet... so since none of my stamps were collecting dust, I kept with the theme of the hop and used my dusty Mod Podge ;)

Anyhoo, I wanted to keep this project pretty flat, so no 3D embellies, but I did layer on the stamps! There's three PTI stamps in there and then the letters :) I would have loved to dress it up a bit more, if it were a card, but I'm pleased with the results!

I love the phrase- although intended for Christmas time, I think it works perfectly for my cleaning supplies... a reminder to keep a "merry" attitude whilst making everything "bright" and sparkly clean ;)

PS. I know I can't spell, lol.

Feel free to take a peek at my blog post {here} on my homemaking blog to see more about my bathroom cleaning arsenal! :)

girly birthday glitter

Here's a fun card that I really liked how it turned out! It's got some BasicGrey paper for the background and sentiment. The stamps are both SU! and I topped it off with some gems, rounded corners, and glitter! Both the cake and the sentiment are popped up, and {even though you can't see it well} the sentiment is arched a little. Really happy with how this came out, might even make some more in other colors! :)

baby animals

And we wrap up my mini series of baby card :) This was for a friend who's expecting any day now actually! Another baby boy for her. The animals are from Unity's Happily Ever After KOM, definitely one of my fav kits! The inside sentiment is TAC.

congrats, baby

Here's another baby card, for boy or girl. I pulled out a bunch of different stamp makers for this one... the background stamp is Unity's Happily Ever After KOM, the bottle is a Studio G set, and the sentiment is TPC Studios. And I'll share with you a secret- the pink ribbon is actually off a Victoria's Secret bag! Gotta love upcycling ;)

heart panel

Welcome to another FWF!!! {Updated to add better photos!} Today's card uses a stamp from the Jan KOM "To the Moon and Back." Super fun kit! If you're not already a kit club member I would HIGHLY recommend getting in on the fabulousness that comes out of Unity every month!! :D

Anyhoo, in the heart panel area, I used the Sketch 65 flipped on its side, from Limelight Papercrafts- so sad to see they're going out of business :( But head on over to get some great deals, including Unity stuff! Added the fun chipboard heart after I inked up the edges and stamped it! I used the colors of green, grey, and orange from The Play Date Cafe #65.

goodnight, baby

Seems like everyone around here's havin babies! Hehe, literally nearly every wife I know here in the Army is pregnant or has young kids already. Crazy! Babies are truly a blessing from the Lord, so I thought I'd share a few baby cards I've made recently :) So get ready, because the next few days will be lots of cute cards :D hehe! The DP here is Creative Memories, the wire word is Making Memories, and the stamp is Unity's Happily Ever After KOM.

sending my love

Two cards using the fun Unity "Sending My Love" set! :) They're fun, cute lil cards to send to your special someone or maybe family or friends that you're missing. We don't celebrate valentine's day {everyday should be set aside to show DH I love him! hehe} but they would make cute valentines cards too!

birthday candle wishes

Sorry ya'll! I'm in the process of redoing my craft room, so things are a bit slow around here! This is one of those cards that has grown on me. It didn't come out quite as I had envisioned, but I'm liking it now. I wouldn't be surprised if I give this another go though :)

froggy baby shower printables

Here are the two printables I promised you! Click on the titles to be taken to the download site.

The first is the two shower games I put together. I found the first idea online and switched out a few of the starter words and made it all pretty. The second one I used Puzzle Maker to create the word search, then made it all pretty :) That site is pretty sweet- has tons of types of puzzle it can make and all for free!

I made the little froggy image myself- I couldn't find one online I liked, and I didn't have a stamp I could use. Let me know if you'd like the games but with different colors or images!! I'd be happy to edit and send it to you :)

froggy shower

So I'm wicked bummed that most of the photos didn't turn out.... so bear with the poor photography, but I wanted to share some cute ideas from a baby shower a few of us wives recently threw for our friend who's expecting a boy in May! Again, please excuse the poor photos, but hopefully you can get some fun ideas out of it!! :)

.: Food :.
We catered the event from one of our favorite local Mexican restaurants. For dessert, fondue was on the menu, so I personalized bamboo skewers for us! I also went with cupcakes {not my best work, I was short on time!} but I made little froggie toppers for them! I'll get you the printables for them soon ;) And I used those for nametags for our glasses too! I just added an eyelet and some ribbon!

.: Guestbook :.
I just whipped up something SUPER simple- cut out pieces of paper, rounded the top edges, put eyelets on the front and back pages and threaded some ribbon through and added a charm. The inside pages, I stamped a journaling stamp so we could each leave her some advice or congrats, I also added some coordinating scrapbook paper along the top of each page. On the inside of the back cover, we each wrote down our predictions for date, size, and weight of the baby, so it'll be something fun momma can look back on- see who was closest!

.: Decor :.
Well, I kept it simple. They're moving to GA this week, so we didn't want to get them too too much. I made a small diaper cake {topped with a washcloth... do you know how hard it is to find froggy-themed stuff?!}. In the background, to the left of the cake, you can see we did a wishing well- everyone brought their gifts unwrapped and we added it all into a baby tub :)

.: Games :.
Well, for a door prize, I added some scrapbook paper to clothespins, and then hung baby socks up on some twine. I used my PTI bookmark die, and then cut them shorter to fit in the socks, and added some ribbon to the top. On each "bookmark" I wrote a date. Whoever pulled out her due date won the prize!
I also did two other games, I'll get you the printables for them soon ;)

.: Favors :.
This was a last minute party {since she was moving in a week!} so I decided to keep the favors simple. I went with a small candy display- everyone grabbed a bag and filled it with their favorite candies! For the bag tags, I used my PTI bookmark die & embossing plate, added a sentiment, gems, and froggie, then tied them to the bags! Super simple but cute, I think :) This might have been my favorite piece that I made!!

I hope you enjoyed and got a few ideas for your next party!!! :)

i heart u

yup! another post... two in one day, I know, crazy! Well, as they say, when it rains it pours ;) Bear with me with the lighting here... I'm still working on getting a good light box set up for night shoots!

Anyhoo.... so this is for two challenges. The lovely Tiff has started posting her own sketches-{Sketchy Sundays}! Super exciting! And she's a CAS girl after my own heart, I just knew I had to play along! This is a card for the hubby. He's currently at the commissary getting our groceries, and I know he doesn't always like doing that right after work, annnnd I haven't made him a card in a long time, so I figured it's time I show him the love ;) He always loves when I make him cards, hehe. We have a small stockpile. I think one day, when we have a permanent home after the Army, I might frame all the cards he's kept from me... anyways, I digress.

So yea, that's the card, and I decided to use the colors from {The Play Date Cafe}! I missed the submit date, but I have a feeling I'll be using this combo again, I like it!

Hehe, funny story with the ribbon I used... I cut the edges probably about 3 times, but they kept fraying, so I finally gave up and intentionally frayed them a bunch. I distressed the heart a bit so the ribbon edges kinda blended in a bit... like I was intentionally going for the "distressed" look all around... shhhh, don't tell anyone k?
