treat set

hey all! Soooo sorry I've been absent from here lately- it's taken some adjustment around here after hubby deployed. Slowly things are getting into a rhythm, and I'm gearing up for a craft fair next month, so things should be hopping on the blog here ;) I have a lot of post to catch up on with swaps and gifts and such from the past month- I'll post those soon. And I haven't forgotten about the blog candy I promised... that'll likely come mid next month, so keep an eye out!!

This treat set was originally inspired by Unity's final week of Broman's challenges. It developed and encompassed a variety of other challenges {see below}. I'm not thrilled with the photos- so I'll reshoot in the daylight tomorrow!

{Get Sketchy} pillow box LO

Torendi DT try out: week 2

Well, here is my week 2 submission for the Torendi blog DT try-out *provided I make it... We find out in a few hours* Two cute cards using Cosmo Cricket's "Cogsmo" line- the only CC I own.

These cards took a while for me to figure out what I wanted to do with them. I started with the Cogsmo line, because Torendi carries other Cosmo Cricket lines. Then I punched out a bunch of the gears using my Nestabilities. I've really become attached to kraft cardstock lately, so I pulled some of that out. I cut out some of the borders that came in the CC stack and cut out the robot & dog. After playing around with the layout, I decided I needed a DP background. So after choosing a paper, I rounded the two corners, added the DP background and gears, then put the border strips and decorative elements on! And voilá! These cards became reality! :) I hope you like them too!!

Holiday Greetings Trees

Well, I'm guessing this card didn't get picked up by Embellish since the call for cards deadline was a while ago now. I ended up being really fond of it, think I'll make a set of them, but I think I like it better without the twine- what do you think? :)

fall in love

So this is for Unity's Broman challenge... although I don't know if it will count because SCS isn't letting me upload and the deadline is in 3 minutes :-/ But the challenge was to "use something from the HOME" so I used a CD and a necklace! I think my hubby will like it :)

.: materials :.
{DP} makingmemories, DCWV
{stamp} Unity
{ink} Memento
{chipboard alphas} Target $1 bin
{sticker alphas} Flavia
{leaves} Unique Creations- bought at Michaels
{other} ribbon piece, necklace, CD all from my stash

fall acorn

This is for Cuttlebug Challenges' Be Inspired #53- fall/halloween and fall colors {black, gold, cream, red}. The edges of the dark red leaves are distressed with black, though it's a little hard to tell from the shadows! The pattern is by Kim Hughes.

ribbon mistletoe

So I'm really pleased with how this one came out too... I might make this into a set, we'll see! :) This is for Caardvarks' Take a Bow- to use ribbon in a new way. I pieced together bits of ribbon to make the leaves for the mistletoe. This also uses CardPattern sketch #37!

distressed joy

So this card came out kinda funky... not my usual style. Here's the challenges:
BG #5: red, green, blue
Pile it on #19: sketch
DCRU: create your own embellishment {ribbon "flower"}
Charisma Cardz #41: distressing

Christmas sketches 4 you

These are for 2 Sketches 4 You's Kazan's Sketch #37 & the bonus sketch!

baby onesie

So this turned out a lot cuter than I expected :) There are a lot of "baby" challenges this week, so here's the ones to which I'm submitting:
ABC: f is for flying {plane}
SSCC #8: baby
DCD #18: babies are us
Cafe Mojo: momentous occasion {new baby}

Christian ATC swap

Here's some photos of the Christian ATC swap I just finished over at SCS.

hey pumpkin

So one of the commanders my husband had last year just got assigned to our post and moved in down the street! Super exciting really :) But his daughter has cancer and so can't attend school this year but is being tutored. She's doing well, and I'm her new craft teacher! Such a fun family... so today was day 1 and the perfect chance to use this great template! It's actually half-size because I only had a few pages of this great SU! orange but needed to print out a bunch of copies for me, her, mum, lil bro, and the neighbors {DH's commanding officer's fam} who stopped by too! Spouses' wives gotta stick together, especially when our husbands are deployed.

This fits quite a few challenges too:
Allsorts #22: halloween
Embellish It Online: Fall colors
PaperCrafts: October gallery challenge
Cupcake Craft #61: button & stitching
TPE #36: fall
CPS #137: sketch, turned on its side

.: materials :.
{cardstock} SU!, my friend & my stashes
{alphas} JoAnn
{marker} Zig memory systems
{button} Dress it up
{colored pencils} Crayola
{template} Two Peas in a Bucket's monthly class with Kristina Werner, Sept '09.

Christmas shiny trees

Here are a few Christmas cards, part of a set I'll be making.
**NOTE: adding this to Talk To Me Tuesday @ Tip Junkie**

The close up photo uses the colors from SPCC#19, although I used a lighter color teal than shown in the color swatch. The teal and amethyst colors are the ornaments! And don't forget they have a DT call going on, so check it out!

And speaking of DT calls, I'll be using this for the "Susie's Sassy Challenge" DT call as well! She's looking for ONE talented designer for her new challenge blog, and it could be you! Just make a Christmas themed card/project and submit it to her. The DT spot is for 6 months, making one card/project a month. Check it out!

These trees have plenty of "bling" ornaments, so it fits Stamp Something's challenge this week.

And also LaLa's Wednesday Challenge #8 winter/Christmas theme!

.: materials :.
Cardstock: SU!, Bazzill
Stamp: Inkadinkado
Ink: Memento
Gems: Michaels
Twine: from Michaels
Button: Dress it up
Edge Punch: Fiskars

Disney card swap

** 19 Nov- updated photos! **

So I made two sets of cards for a Disney card swap over on SCS. I heart Disney, so it was fun creating :) Sorry for the poor photos- still using my MIL's camera on loan and it doesn't shoot so well in artificial light. I'll try and reshoot in the morning!

This one uses CardPatterns sketch #36. It also uses colors from Colour Create's #29: red, yellow, black, white. {sorry for the shadow in the photo!}

This one uses ICSketches #38.

My Torendi DT Try Out Submission: Week One
So above is my submission for this week! It was originally inspired when my MIL saw a project in PaperCrafts a few months ago and said to me, "Hey, I really like that, but it should say 'Dig In' not 'Dig It'... and you know, my birthday is in a few months..." So I took the hint. The original quote was "Life's a garden, dig it." My MIL loves gardening, and is really good at it. Well, her birthday rolled around last month and I finally got around to making her present! We had just gotten back from our honeymoon when it was her birthday, so I didn't have time to make it then, but she said it was worth the wait :) So I took the modified quote she liked and the garden theme and ran with it! I pulled the brighter colors from the card that I gave her to go with this. Below are some up close photos of the dimension, butterflies, and more detail.

{I apologize for the background, due to the camera dilemma, I had to take the photos at my in-laws' this week!}

Not sure when I can get a new camera either... I'll keep you updated... well, I guess when you see photos again you'll probably know I got a new camera ;) hehe

world card making day! woot

So this is an auto-post {which hopefully posted!}... I'll have to catch up with all the WCMD fun later- right now I'm spending quality time with DH as his overseas deployment rapidly approaches. I may be sporadically posting until he heads off, as we're getting in as many memories as possible to last us over the next year! Keep this blog bookmarked though, there's some fun blog candy coming soon! ;)

So! onto the card... this uses SPCC Christmas Combo #5. I made a similar one for a Simply Scrapping card which I posted about a week ago, but in brown and pink. I'll be making both into sets to sell at the craft fair I have a booth at in Nov!
