RAK

Wow, isn't this card gorgeous!?! Well it's from sweet Gretchen over at Happiness is... There was a little mix up during a recent blog birthday bash and we had to switch prizes, hehe, no problem, and she included this super sweet card when she mailed my gorgeous BasicGrey pad over to me! Again, so beautiful! Go check out the rest of her work on her blog, you won't be sorry ;)

P.S. I just ordered my first Unity Stamp sets- Somthing Within and Itsy Bitsy Giggles- and just had to gush, hehe! Can't wait til they arrive!!!

Passion... Love

Quick post before heading to bed. This is for CB's Movie Inspired challenge this week! I chose Passion of the Christ. Intense, moving, emotional movie. I used my new BasicGrey paper for bkgd, ANW brown paper, K&Co gems, Mark Richards letters, stampcraft ink for distressing (along with edge distressing and sanding), and kraft ribbon.

Open My Door

This is for Moxie Fab World's go green, find vintage theme this week- to use one actual "old" item! The decorative piece on the left was off an old entertainment center. The lace is also from an old sewing kit, I think, that was passed down to me. I distressed and sanded the edges of the patterned paper and also crumpled it. The colors ended up fitting the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge too! :)

Materials- Paper: DCWV (patterned), Stamps: K&Co, Ink: stampcraft, Brads: makingmemories, Sentiment: Cloud 9 Design

Mum & Dad

Here are the final products for my mom's (super-belated) mother's day gift and my dad's father's day gift! They should arrive just in time for father's day hehe :)

Mother's Day
bag of coffee (far left), chocolate bar (bottom), bundle of candles (far right)

Father's Day
trail mix with ratcheting clamp (far left), sandpaper with ratcheting clamp (top middle), maple syrup (top right)

Drive On

My little brother just got his license, scary! My mom will be giving her Camry to him once her '91 Bimmer is finished in the shop (it's been there for about 2 years, so now they have to put a rush on it hehe). Well, I picked him up just a little gift- some shammies and a big sponge so he can help clean HIS car! So I put a little decorative wrapping on it with a note- used the 2RedBananas/CPS sketch for the week and the colors from Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. The paper was all from my stash, Offray ribbon, makingmemories brads, and Stickopotamus letters! Super simple, and I think he'll like it :) Well, mom might like it more because now she can tell him to go wash all the cars!

Maple Fries

I'm putting together my Father's Day gift for my dad and needed to figure out a way to package some Adirondack Maple Syrup I picked up this weekend. My MIL found huge boxes of white fry boxes at a local swap shop (a place at the dump where you can bring good stuff you just don't want/need/have room for anymore!) so I decided to put one to use! I added some Me & My Big Idea background paper, some JoAnn brads, Offray and Micheals ribbon, and some extra paper from my college's school store and best occasions, then topped it off with some Current letters and bang! This is what I got, using the sketch from Sketch & Stash. I'm also entering in Caardvarks' 3-D challenge for the week!

12 June 2009

he completes me

So my hubby was having a long week and culminated with an event that he reaaally didn't want to go to, and he just left to come home now. So I wanted to make a card to cheer him up. I thought I was done with cards n such for the day, but I somehow ended up making another one! Don't ya love it when that happens ;) hehe. Anyways, I added a few elements from different challenges in on this one- 365's Super Sketchy Sunday, combined with Jennie's candy giveaway and the dragonfly element, and color chef challenge of black, white, and another color (light blue for me!). Well, I should get going before he gets home! :)

Materials- paper from my stash, Gems: Recollections, Michaels, Stamp/Ink: stampcraft, Sentiment: Me & My Big Idea, Emboss: CB Fancy corners, Brads: makingmemories

O-hhh Baby Announcements

This is the last part of the baby gifts that I'm sending out tomorrow to my friend who is expecting her first bouncing baby boy :) She's due soon too! Sorry, that just dawned on me, hehe. They are baby announcements, using the sketch from The Fresh Batch. The back is a stamped image that has "name: weight: length:" etc.

Materials- Paper: DCWV, Me & My Big Idea, Stamp: heidi grace, stampcraft, Ink: stampcraft, Ribbon: Offray, Emboss: CB Spots & Dots

O-hhh bookmarks

So as part of a baby gift package I'm sending to my friend, I'm including some bookmarks (seen a few weeks ago) for reading little ones bedtime stories :) I created a package for the bookmarks, and the layout for the top flap is a take on The Sweet Stop's sketch this week. When I traced the yellow circle, I really like the bleeding effect it left on the ribbon, unintended, but I like it :)

Materials- Paper: Me & My Big Idea (bkgd), my stash, Brads: Michaels, makingmemories, Ribbon: Offray, Gems: Recollections, Connector: JoAnn, Stamp: stampcraft, Inks: stampcraft, Zig, Chipboard: K&Co

Grapey Baby Blessing

This is a framed card project for a friend of mine who's expecting her first little girl! The layout is this week's CPS sketch, the colors match Stampin For the Weekend's first challenge of purple and yellow (though late, forgot the time difference:/). I included the cute ribbon frame from this week's Next Level challenge... and their handmade prima's from last week! Cindy's Blog over at CPCM had a cute challenge (CPCM-FOF09), to identify her two themes and make a card... well she posted the themes over at the gallery- veggies and fruits! (initially my guess was circles and foods that grow on trees/vines) Anyways, note the grapes on the frame, and the close up photo where you can see the stem inking and curly vines! :)

Materials- Paper: Me & My Big Idea (background), my stash, Ribbon: all in the cards inc, Stamp: stampcraft, Inks: Zig, stampcraft, Martha Stewart, Frame: Michaels, Paint: Craft Smart, Gems: Marcella by K&Co, Buttons: Dress It Up, Floss: DMC
