So I got a few pages of core'dinations paper this weekend whilst taking advantage of the 4th O July sales at JoAnn's. I was actually the last customer and got "kicked" out of the store :P Whoops! I hate being that last person who's there after closing because I know what it's like to work a closing shift and just wanna get home! Hehe... anyways. I made this kind of cake on my last card, but wasn't entirely pleased with the way the card came out, so here's take two... I'm pleased, I think :) When I saw the color challenge on Color Chef #13 was black, white, and yellow, I knew I had to use the Whitewashed core'dinations with the black back. When it's sanded, I totally think it looks like sprinkles on a cake :P Anyways, used the CB Swiss Dots a bunch, punched out some circles for the edging using my Nestabilities, stamped the Inkadinkado candle with stampcraft black ink and the SU sentiment and done! Honestly, punches out and embossing the edging circles was the longest part hehe. The yellow cardstock is DCWV and the white is from my stash. It also fits the sketch over at Sweet Sunday #25 and the picture challenge at 365 and the Shaped Cards challenge #8 at Allsorts.
OK, so here's where I need your help, and be honest here.... I can take it :) I've been meaning to open an Etsy shop to bring in a little side income that we can put directly into savings for the future. I've been trying to up my skill level and stash/tool level before selling anything though. I told the hubby (before he headed off to training) that I would focus on making quality cards this week so that I could put them up for sale. I'm pretty pleased with how this card came out and think it might be the first one I put up for sale. So really, would you buy this? Maybe altered with different colors? Be honest. (I'll be taking better photos for posting on Etsy) Any helpful improvement tips/suggestions/etc are so greatly appreciated too!!! :) Thankies
